Swiss cyclist Gino Mäder has died aged 26 after a crash on the fifth stage of the Tour de Suisse, his Bahrain Victorious team announced on Friday

Mader, 26, fell into a ravine while descending towards the finish line in Thursday's stage five

"This tragic accident has left our entire team in shock, & during this especially trying time,our thoughts & prayers are with Gino's family & loved ones," the statement said

 Race organizers said on Thursday that the 21 Sheffield, who rides for Ineos Grenadiers, who rides for Ineos Grenadiers, was found liable for injuries & concussion after the crash

Ineos Grenadiers later said Sheffield had kept in hospital overnight on Thursday for observation after suffering concussion and soft tissue damage.
